Letter June 30, 1863.

Letter to Arthur [last name not given], 30 June 1863, from USS Chocura off Cape Fear River, North Carolina, where Wood is on blockade duty. He reports that they have not caught any prizes yet and steamers go by undetected. USS Florida caught a steamer and sailing vessel recently. He is anxious for news of the war, has news that Robert E. Lee is in Pennsylvania and McClellan is in command.

Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) served as General of the Confederate Army in the U.S. Civil War and was president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia from 1865 to 1870.
